Widely regarded as one of the foremost chamber choirs in Derbyshire, The Sitwell Singers have been making music together for over 50 years. We have built a reputation for “stylistically spot-on” performances of a varied repertoire, from the great choral masterpieces of European sacred music to folk, jazz and Billy Joel.

“deeply thoughtful … beautifully sensitive”

We are based at St John’s, Bridge Street in Derby, but perform in venues all over the city, the East Midlands and the Peak District. With a core membership of around 30 singers, we present four to five concerts each season, a mix of large-scale works and lighter seasonal programmes. Whether we’re singing a cappella or with brass or a period string ensemble, we’re known for our “huge dynamic range” and our “immaculate blend”.

“… ebbs and flows of tension superbly controlled”

We are always pleased to hear from talented singers who are interested in joining us. If you’re looking for a choir dedicated to enjoying and performing the best choral music to a high standard, we would love to hear from you. For more information please contact us.
